“This is a prudent preventative step to make sure every student, faculty, and working staff are kept shielded and well-supported during this time of instability. “Postponing assessments enables us to thoroughly assess potential risks while assuring psychological health and academic readiness remain a superior priority,” stated Dr. Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Updated Examination Timeline For Affected Institutions

The revised examinations severely disrupt the students from international institutions and government-based institutions in the Al Rayyan and Umm Salal administrative zones, which are nearer to Al Udeid Air Base. Academic institutions have been advised to interconnect with students and parents about rescheduled exam timelines through direct contact by the end of the week.

The rescheduled examinations are tentatively planned between July 3 and July 10, 2025, dependent on subsequent security assessment and approval from national security authorities. In the meantime, academic institutions are instructed to schedule virtual review sessions and provide psychological counseling to the affected students.

Well-being Resources for Students And Families

Acknowledging the emotional impact of the recent attack on young students, the Ministry of Education is closely collaborating with mental health professionals, school counselors, and parent-teacher associations to provide well-structured psychological support. A crisis helpline and resource center are live on the Ministry’s official website, delivering guidelines for families to manage stress, trauma, and educational disruptions due to the attack on Al Udeid Air Base.

“We recognize that the audible presence of missile defence systems and military action can cause significant stress. Our intention is to help the student to restore a normal life and emotional security for our students during this moment of uncertainty and adaptation,” said Fatima Al-Kuwari, School Counselor at Doha International School.
