The Al Rams Waterfront Project has been launched in Ras Al Khaimah by the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, introducing large-scale developments aimed at transforming the Al Rams area into an integrated destination.
The project includes upgrades to the waterfront, public spaces, commercial areas and heritage attractions as part of wider efforts to improve quality of life and support sustainable development across UAE communities.
Waterfront Development to Enhance Community Spaces
The project includes the redevelopment of a 2-kilometre waterfront featuring dedicated walking, cycling and jogging tracks, alongside green areas, playgrounds, public facilities, plazas for community events and parking spaces. The development will also include upgrades to Al Rams Corniche and Al Rams Marina to strengthen the area’s role as a social and cultural hub while creating organised spaces for leisure and sports activities.
A heritage-inspired landmark reflecting authentic Emirati culture will also be introduced, giving the destination a distinctive identity and increasing its appeal for both residents and tourists.
Al Rams Boulevard to Revitalise Commercial Area
The Al Rams Boulevard project will focus on upgrading the main commercial corridor and linking it directly to the waterfront through an integrated urban design plan. More than 100 existing shops will be renovated under a unified visual identity inspired by local heritage.
The development will also feature parking areas, public seating spaces and a shaded pedestrian walkway inspired by the traditional Emirati Al Sadu weaving art, connecting storefronts with Al Rams Corniche.
Development to Support Sustainable Growth
Construction activities will be carried out in phases to minimise disruptions and ensure businesses continue operating during the implementation period.
The Emirates Council for Balanced Development said the initiative is part of its broader strategy to transform UAE villages and rural communities into attractive destinations while preserving Emirati heritage and promoting balanced national development.
