Dubai, May 17, 2025 – The city of Dubai is advancing gradually towards becoming a cashless city. The shift is at the heart of the transformation as the Dubai Finance (DOF) and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) have joined the new alliance for Dubai Cashless Strategy to spearhead the city’s transformation in adopting electronic payment.

A Major Step for the Dubai Cashless Strategy

The Dubai Cashless Strategy is aimed at transforming Dubai into an international financial leader of the future in the digital era. A key milestone has been achieved in realizing the vision in the new agreement between DOF and DIFC. The signing process was marked on the day of the Dubai FinTech Summit at Madinat Jumeirah. Senior government figures, led by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, attended the function.

The Three Pillars of the Dubai Cashless Strategy are society, governance, and innovation. These pillars guide the city in creating an efficient payment system. DIFC’s Role in the Dubai Cashless Strategy

DIFC is a key player in the Dubai Cashless Strategy. It is already established as the region’s best financial innovation destination. DIFC houses numerous fintech firms and international financial institutions. That makes it the best partner for Dubai Finance in driving the Cashless Strategy.

DIFC Governor Essa Kazim mentioned that the collaboration will establish a sound digital economy in Dubai. New concepts will be nurtured, and the growth of fintech firms will be supported by DIFC. The idea is to make Dubai a global financial capital for the digital world. The Dubai Cashless Strategy will enhance the city’s infrastructure in terms of being digital and also bring growth in financial technology.
