Dubai flight disruptions are continuing to impact thousands of travellers as several international airlines have extended cancellations, route suspensions and delayed service resumptions due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
With carriers across Europe, North America and Asia adjusting operations amid security concerns and airspace restrictions, some Dubai routes are expected to remain suspended until August, September and even October, creating uncertainty for summer travel plans.

Major Airlines Extend Dubai Flight Suspensions
A number of major international carriers have announced prolonged suspensions of flights to Dubai and other Middle Eastern destinations.
Greek carrier Aegean Airlines has cancelled flights to and from Dubai until August 31, while Air Canada has extended the suspension of its Dubai and Tel Aviv services until September 7. Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific has paused flights to Dubai and Riyadh until August 31, and Singapore Airlines has suspended its Singapore-Dubai route until August 2.
British Airways has also delayed the return of several Middle East services. Flights to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Bahrain and Amman are now suspended until October 25, marking the end of the airline’s summer schedule. The carrier is expected to resume some routes with reduced frequencies once operations restart.
European Carriers Most Affected
European airlines continue to account for the largest share of disruptions as operators reassess risk levels across the region.
Air France has suspended flights to Dubai and Beirut until June 17, while Dutch carrier KLM has halted Dubai services until August 2. KLM’s flights to Riyadh and Dammam will remain suspended until July 12.
The Lufthansa Group has implemented some of the most extensive restrictions. Lufthansa, SWISS and ITA Airways have suspended Dubai flights until September 13. Meanwhile, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines have paused services to several destinations including Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Riyadh, Erbil, Muscat and Tehran until October 24.
Eurowings, the group’s low-cost airline, has also suspended flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman through October 24. Budget carrier Wizz Air has cancelled flights from mainland Europe to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman until mid-September, while its Medina route remains suspended indefinitely.
Some Airlines Begin Restoring Services
Despite widespread disruptions, some airlines have started gradually resuming operations.
Kazakhstan’s Air Astana announced plans to restart regular services from Almaty to Dubai on June 20, followed by flights from Astana to Dubai beginning July 10. Due to the closure of Iranian airspace, the airline will operate revised flight paths through Pakistan to ensure safety and reliability.
The Almaty-Dubai route is expected to increase to daily operations by July 6, while Astana-Dubai flights will initially operate three times a week before expanding to daily service in early August.
Passengers holding rebooked tickets for departures up to July 31 have been offered flexible travel options, including free changes to earlier flights on eligible routes.
Travellers Advised to Check Flight Status
Airlines are urging passengers to verify flight schedules before heading to the airport, as operational changes continue to evolve.
Many carriers are offering refunds, travel vouchers, rerouting options or complimentary date changes for affected customers. However, policies vary depending on the airline, ticket type and booking conditions.
Cathay Pacific said travellers affected by the suspension period may rebook, reroute or seek refunds under its waiver policy. The airline emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority as it continues to monitor developments in the region.
Virgin Atlantic has also adjusted its operations, bringing forward the end of its seasonal London-Dubai service. The airline said the recent escalation in the Middle East prompted the decision to conclude the route earlier than planned.
Uncertainty Remains for Summer Travel
With several airlines maintaining suspensions through August, September and October, uncertainty continues to surround summer travel to and from Dubai. Industry observers say flight schedules could change further depending on security assessments and developments in regional airspace.
For now, travellers are being encouraged to remain flexible, monitor airline updates regularly and review available rebooking or refund options before making travel decisions. As airlines balance safety concerns with demand, Dubai’s international aviation network remains under pressure from one of the region’s most significant travel disruptions in recent years.
