December 15, 2025 | Dubai, UAE: As a move to enhance road safety and ease traffic flow across the emirate, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a Dubai new traffic plan to embark on an extended traffic enforcement campaign to combat unsafe and illegal driving and parking habits, especially among the heavy vehicles. The relocation is one of the broader plans to increase mobility, secure infrastructure and preserve the urban landscape of Dubai.

The most recent measure is to crack down on random or unseemly parking of freight trucks, particularly on prime roads and in the right-of-way, which may lead to traffic jamming, exposure of road users, and leaves the transportation network of this city strained. In this heightened campaign, the inspectors will conduct regular spot checks and unannounced checks in key through ways to detect the violations and give penalties.

Strict Dubai Traffic Fines To Discourage Risky Behaviours

When the Dubai new traffic plan regime is in place, the violation of the random truck parking and other disruptive roadside behaviors will be fined by the Dh5,000 as starting fines and harsher fines given to the repeated or severe violation. Dubai traffic fines in very severe cases (where the violations significantly affect the safety or traffic movement) will reach Dh200,000 based on the Executive Council Resolution No. 54 of 2021, which regulates the activities in the road right-of-way in Dubai.

Arif Shakri, the Director of Right-of-Way at the RTA Traffic and Roads Authority Traffic and Roads Agency, stressed that this Dubai new traffic plan is not punitive but also preventive, it would help to educate drivers and logistics companies on safe roadside behaviour and discourage those actions that lead to traffic jams and threat to civilians. He pointed out that the authority will have a steady and visible enforcement to address violations before they grow to become bigger hindrances.

Special Rest Areas That Ease The Work Of Truck Drivers

As one of the factors of the problem has been identified as the absence of safe stopping points among truck drivers, the RTA has increased infrastructure to facilitate safer road use. The authority has strategically come up with 14 special truck resting places along major highway and transportation routes. These facilities will have facilities like prayer rooms, diesel pump, food and retail shops, vehicle service stations and special drivers rest areas under the Dubai new traffic plan.

Through such comprehensive rest facilities under the Dubai new traffic plan, Dubai will aim at lowering the rate of trucks parking in the undesignated roadside areas and ease some of the congestion that occurs as a result of drivers seeking adequate rest when making long hauls. The rest areas belong to an attempt to align with the global best practices and enhance efficiency of the freight movement in the entire emirate.

One Of A Broader Push On Road Safety And Traffic Management

The Dubai new traffic plan is a part of a broader range of reforms and strategies that are set to better the safety of the traffic and ease of movement in the UAE. Recent changes in the country traffic law such as the Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 have enacted more rigid sanctions against different severe offences including hits-and-run cases, drunk driving and menacing pedestrian behaviour. In case of some of such offences under the Dubai new traffic plan, one may face Dubai traffic fines of as much as Dh200,000 or even imprisonment under some conditions.

The local authorities and the RTA have likewise been pouring efforts into smart traffic management, such as state-of-the-art camera networks and AI enforcement solutions, to have a superior control over road behaviour, identify offenders on the fly, and enforce laws and regulations. These have assisted Dubai to remain abreast with the fast population growth and the increased road vehicles in relation to the safety of all the road users. Non- Compliance leads to reporting and imposition of Dubai traffic fines.

Promoting Compliance And Publicity

Officials emphasize that the Dubai new traffic plan is not sufficient as awareness of the public and collaboration is equally essential to attain long-term behavioural change on the roads. RTA holds regular meetings with freight companies, logistics operators, and individual drivers to emphasize on the need to observe safety standards and operations requirements.

With the assistance of purposeful outreach programs and education, the authorities are trying to make people responsible, helping to make Dubai’s vision safer and more efficient in terms of the transport ecosystem.

During the campaign, drivers and transport companies are also being encouraged to learn the traffic regulations, use the designated rest zones and avoid activities that might cost them heavy Dubai traffic fines or put their lives at risk. Having the Dubai new traffic plan structure that is now more inclusive and with harsher penalties and Dubai traffic fines, it is sending a strong message: safe and well organized roads are beneficial to all.
