Dubai- UAE: Dubai Municipality officially resumed the Ramadan Souq in Deira, in its fourth season. The long-awaited event is going to be held between January 17 and February 15, 2026, at the Old Municipality Street Square of the historic Grand Souq of Deira.  Having a fusion of heritage shopping, cultural, family entertainment, and tourism activities, the souq as one of the traditional Ramadan markets is an exclusive celebration before the Holy month of Ramadan.

Saving Emirati Tradition With The Help Of A Tradition Marketplace

Respecting the Tradition in a Modern City. One of the main objectives of the Ramadan Souq in Deira is to maintain the authenticity of the Emirati traditions and emphasize the historical significance of the traditional marketplace as the cultural and tourist place in Dubai.

Traditional souqs have been part of the UAE social life since ancient times, becoming a busy place of trade and community life, exchange of goods, e.g. spices, dates, textiles and hand-made products, a tradition that this project has been able to showcase.  Decent and Opulent Adventure to all and a Marketplace that has everything to offer everyone. It has been noted that Dubai Municipality has made the Ramadan Souq in Deira to suit a broad and diversified audience, and these audiences include:

  • Local residents and citizens.
  • Families and youth
  • People interested in culture and heritage.
  • International tourists and visitors.

In this respect, the event is going to provide all age groups and interests with recreational, tourism, and commercial activities, where the souq experience will be festive and inclusive.

What to Expect At The Souq

  1. Conventional Stalls and Products.

It will design a miniature souk that will be placed adjacent to the historic Deira Souq where there will be stalls that will be operated by long established shopkeepers with some items that are needed during Ramadan and some needed in the Haq Al Laila celebration- a common tradition that comes before Ramadan. Visitors can expect to find:

  • Dates, spices, and sweets which are necessities of Ramadan.
  • Classical clothes and fabrics.
  • Incense, cultural crafts and perfumes.
  • Home furnishings and home decor.
  • Gift products and personal things.

This combination of services can be attributed to the fact that Deira is a traditional trading center – one of the features that have defined the identity of the area over the course of generations.

  • Funs and Games of all Ages.

Beyond Shopping, a complete cultural program. It is not only about trade, the Ramadan Souq in Deira is also characterized by an active entertainment and activity program:

  • Live concerts and culture.
  • Active seminars and presentations.
  • Play and activities of children and family attractions.
  • Gastronomic shows and food shows.

Such an assembly transforms the souq into a place of socialization and entertainment that allows families and friends to explore and learn together and enjoy.

Local Business And Tourism

Local Investors and Traders platform. One of the core goals of the Ramadan Souq in Deira is to help local investors, small business owners as well as artisans with a platform to demonstrate and advertise their products before Ramadan, which is the period when spending usually increases across the UAE.

Having placed the souq between old markets, Dubai Municipality will be able to boost the economic significance of the location and endure its popularity as a cultural heritage tourist destination.

Daily Timings And Visitor Information

The Ramadan Souq in Deira will operate on a daily basis between 10 am and 10 pm and visitors are welcome to come and have everything they can find there all through the day.  Early-morning browsing, lunch-time discoveries or an evening walk through the lightened souq lanes, the visitors are asked to make the most out of this festive event as it is held over 25 days.

Deira – Tradition On One Hand, Tourist On The Other

An Old-fashioned Neighborhood of Present-day Relevance. The location of the Ramadan Souq is a very critical one. The city of Dubai is a city of traders, and the one of the oldest business quarters of the city, namely Deira, is defined by the system of traditional commercial spaces, including the Gold and Spice Souks, and the relation to the commercial history of the city.

The Ramadan Souq in Deira is an opportunity that Dubai Municipality can use to uphold the culture of Deira and make it a more appealing tourist attraction in the city of cosmopolitan Dubai. The combination of tradition, community, business, and entertainment will make the Ramadan Souq one of the most impressive events prior to the year 2026 Ramadan that will be intriguing to local people and tourists alike.

Whether you want to shop, study, mingle, or simply enjoy the culture, you will not regret shopping at the Ramadan Souq in Deira since it is a good opportunity especially to experience the seasonal spirit as well as enjoy the tradition in the heart of the region.
