Dubai, November 28th, 2025: As you board an airplane in Dubai, be it business or recreation, there is some good news. Non-stop free WiFi in Dubai flights is now in sight, and with that said, it is arguably truly free. On 23 November 2025, Emirates will start providing its customers with free ultra-fast in-flight internet on its Boeing 777 fleet through the use of Starlink satellite-connectivity. This is how, why and what it is to the travellers flying out of the UAE.

Launch and roll-out plan

Emirates is in the lead. From 23 November the airline will offer Starlink’s non-stop free WiFi in Dubai flights on its Boeing 777 fleet. The system is to be installed on the entire wide-body fleet by mid 2027, with Airbus A380 aircrafts starting to be converted early 2026.

In the meantime, regional airline flydubai will come next, where all its Boeing 737s will be equipped with Starlink connectivity by 2026.

More importantly, the service is free to passengers. Free and no additional cost, no membership needed, have it with your flight. This is the expectation of the travellers flying in and out of Dubai, as well as connecting with Dubai: they will enjoy non-stop free WiFi in Dubai flights, meaning once the plane is in air, the connection will be good until the descent.

Importance of Non-stop free wifi in Dubai flights

In previous years in-flight WiFi was either an expensive option or it was slow or had limited range. This is all different with the Starlink system. The trick is the web of low-Earth orbit satellites, which decreases latency and increases speed over an older satellite system which was at very high orbits.

To the passengers, Non-Stop Free WIFI in Dubai Flights becomes helpful as now they can:

  • Watch movies, play video games, and make video calls through your personal devices or seat-back screens, without having to sit there and wait and frustratingly watch buffering or no video.
  • Working remotely: emailing, attending teleconferences, working remotely on the computer, even thousands of feet in the air.
  • Ensuring that everyone in the cabin is in touch at the same time – several phones, tablets or laptops all operational, with no interruption in functionality.
  • In particular, the download speed is approximately 100-250 Mbps, and the upload speed is approximately 10-25 Mbps, and the latency is approximately 25-44 milliseconds.

While you are flying Emirates (or are soon flying flydubai) you will experience a connectivity experience which is much closer to what you are used to on the ground – a giant leap forward in in-air travel.

The advantages of the UAE travellers and the world at large

In the case of travellers with a starting or connecting point in Dubai, the non-stop free WiFi in Dubai flights option places the inflight time as a productive or entertainment time, instead of an offline one. Business travellers will be able to work, leisure travellers can stream or play games, families will be able to keep in touch and social media does not die.

It also provides the airline of Dubai based with a competitive advantage, the provision of high-quality connectivity is a powerful differentiator in the saturated global aviation industry. This repositioning leaves Emirates and flydubai as technologically-empowered carriers that are future-oriented.

People can find it very expanded since previously, some people would not have been comfortable taking long-haul flights or feared the downtime, but the flight can now be an extension of life on the ground. Also, the connectivity is made free to all classes of cabins (no additional charge) and thus, it is available to everyone onboard.

What to watch for

The rollout timeline for non-stop free wifi in Dubai flights is significant, whereas the promise is strong. In addition to Boeing 777 flights, which will be covered by the service starting in late November, it will not be until mid-2027 (in the case of Emirates) and 2026 (in the case of flydubai) that all aircraft types will be covered. The system has not yet been installed in some routes/aircraft.

Before boarding an aircraft, the passengers of the particular flight must verify whether they have been equipped with Starlink service. In addition, plane WiFi speed can be determined by the airplane load, satellite coverage, and route, yet the technology involved is a significant breakthrough.

Lastly, connectivity - which is free and high-speed, however, is still limited by the technical capabilities of in-flight satellite networks, as very heavy usage (e.g. dozens of high-definition streams) can still be restricted.

Non-stop free WIFI in Dubai Flights

Non-stop free WiFi in Dubai flights is announced and it is a breakthrough. The flight experience is being re-imagined with Emirates and flydubai adopting Starlink to provide free and high bandwidth internet at cruising altitude. Be it working, streaming, gaming or just in touch – ensure that you are connected, whether on takeoff or landing.

To the travellers in the Dubai international network this implies that your travelling will no longer obligate you to go offline anywhere in your global network but rather make it a seamless experience as part of your connected world. The moment when all flights out of Dubai will have this next-generation onboard internet is when the process of installing it goes fleet-wide, and that day is now here.
