UAE Fuel Price Increase Leads Up to Dh900 Monthly Support for Vulnerable Families

Government initiative cushions rising fuel costs with targeted monthly support, helping eligible Emirati households manage inflation pressures.

Increasing Fuel Prices across the UAE

In UAE, April brought higher fuel price, affecting both petrol and diesel. Notably, Super 98 moved up to Dh3.39 per litre, having stood at Dh2.59 last month. Special 95 followed a similar path, now priced at Dh3.28 compared to March’s Dh2.48. At the pumps, E-Plus 91 reached Dh3.20 per litre under the new adjustment. Diesel saw the sharpest ascent – climbing past previous levels to settle at Dh4.69. That figure marks growth exceeding 70 per cent from earlier values. Such changes began from April 1, shaped by shifts in international oil markets.

Government Action Towards Reducing Pressure

Even after fuel prices rise across the UAE, assistance reaches vulnerable citizen through a state-backed inflation relief effort. Launched in 2022, the measure responds to rising expenses tied to worldwide economic shifts and living costs. Monthly support will arrive, adjusted according to household circumstances. Stability emerges quietly for eligible Emirati families when economy fluctuates.

Comprehensive Inflation Allowance Framework

Beginning with a focus on basic needs, the initiative managed by the Ministry of Community Empowerment targets core living costs. Support reaches items like fuel, groceries, utility along with electricity and water bills. Through careful design, benefits flow mainly to those meeting specific criteria deemed vital by broader policy goals. Such alignment reflects an effort to maintain fairness while supporting stability across communities.

Fuel Allowance Tied to Market Rates

A main feature of the programme is how it adjusts when UAE fuel prices rise. When Special 95 climbs beyond Dh2.1 per litre, the fuel allowance becomes active. Support rolls out across three tiers, depending on usage thresholds

  • Dh300 when prices range from Dh2.1 to Dh2.85 per litre
  • Dh600 when prices fall between Dh2.86 and Dh3.6 per litre
  • Dh900 when prices reach Dh3.61 per litre or higher

A price of Dh3.28 per litre marks April’s fuel cost, whereby households who meet criteria receive a monthly allowance of Dh600. Support is provided based on eligibility, as rates hold steady through the month.

Targeted Support for Households

A payment is issued to the head of the household, while Emirati spouses may also qualify – only one per household receives support. Coverage expands this way, ensuring fairness when allocating assistance due to rising fuel costs across affected households in the UAE.

Commitment to Social Stability

With forward-looking measures, the UAE upholds its responsibility to shield residents from financial strain. Continuous adjustments in the inflation allowance reflects that assistance adapts smoothly to shifting conditions. Stability in household budgets is seen even when worldwide disruptions persist, due to consistent policy updates.
