Strengthening Gulf Ties: UAE Media Delegation Heads To Kuwait

UAE media delegation heads to Kuwait

Dubai- UAE: During an early period in the month of February, a UAE media delegation will visit Kuwait in accordance with the directives of the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to celebrate the strong bond between the UAE and Kuwait and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rushaid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and also under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council. 

The visit is arranged by the Dubai Press Club (DPC) and it will be dedicated to the relations between two countries with a long history, and also will be accompanied with the UAE-Kuwait Media Celebration, during which Abdulrahman Al Mutair, a Minister of Information and Culture of Finland and a Minister of Youth Affairs of Kuwait will take part.

The UAE Media Delegation Members

The UAE media delegation includes over 100 top media personalities such as editors, writers, journalists, content creators, artists, producers and influencers. The event also unites the top-tier Kuwaiti media professionals, authors and opinion leaders. It is a sign of the high respect towards Kuwait, its leadership, and its citizens that unites the UAE and Kuwait as well as their desire to have a successful future. This time around, Mona Ghanem AlMarri the Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and DPC President shedding light on the innovative aspect of Kuwaiti media in influencing the Arabian Gulf media within the past century. 

She also recalled the close and outstanding cooperation that prevailed even before the establishment of the UAE, and the ongoing contribution by the media which was to bolster and establish the historic relationship that existed between the UAE and the Kuwait which was based on mutual respect, a common vision and a strong desire to build and fortify the relationship between the two brotherly nations.

In the process, DPC shall recognise Kuwaiti media professionals who have assisted the two countries in enhancing collaboration to date, especially those who have enhanced the success of the Arab Media Award, since its introduction in 1999. The visit is anticipatory for the UAE media delegation for a better shared future.

Events And Procedures 

The visit of the UAE media delegation will also be accompanied by signing of a memorandum of understanding between Dubai Media Incorporated and Kuwait TV to enhance collaborative production of media, exchange of expertise, and development of quality content. Another event of the event will be the panel discussion arranged by the Dubai Media Youth Council in collaboration with the Kuwaiti Media Youth Council, the name of the event will be Media and the Voice of Youth: the UAE and Kuwait.

According to Maryam Al Mulla, the director of Dubai Press Club, the UAE media delegation visit to Kuwait gives a new impetus to the model collaboration between the UAE and Kuwaiti media communities. She was proud of the fact that the Club has been working with the top professional media people in Kuwait, as they have been actively involved in major events in the region, in particular, the Arab Media Summit and the Arab Media Award.

The Importance Of The Initiative 

The initiative was positive in the eyes of the UAE media delegation as it strengthens the special relationships between the two peoples. They emphasized that fostering such relationships will guarantee further development and the common way to a successful and prosperous future.
