August 18, 2025, | Dubai, UAE:  As the UAE academic year begins, officials of the UAE are issuing stern warnings about the rise in swindling UAE Job Scam opportunities. Scammers are promising job offers across various domains, including schools, colleges, and corporations nationwide. Job seekers need to remain vigilant and take necessary steps due to the UAE job scam and the MOHRE job scam, as warned by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).

Perennial Pseudo Job Offers In the Education Sector

The United Arab Emirates Education sector has become increasingly vulnerable to fraudulent job opportunities. People in dire need receive false and fabricated offer letters, often featuring the names of prestigious institutions. These pseudo-promises offer attractive benefits, a promising salary, and immediate joining, and appear seemingly real.

To further deceive people, these fraudsters are using the branding of renowned institutions such as Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. These scammers have a recurring pattern of demanding money for visa documentation and job training once the victim accepts the offer.

Authorities have been upfront that employers do not demand any amount from job applicants or candidates. Schools and other educational institutions have also emphasised the fact that vacancies and job postings are only on their original websites or verified channels.

MOHRE’s Efforts Against Recruitment Scams

The caution issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation clarifies that the UAE  regulates job postings through the Ministry’s system, including verification and a barcode. Candidates can accept their job offer using MOHRE’s online services and assistance number.

This crucial step showcases MOHRE’s defiance of the UAE job scam. Due to the hindrance in hiring laws, MOHRE fined over 1,300 companies and closed 1,800 accounts related to false job hiring. Job roles that ask for an amount without an interview or approach via social media are considered dubious.  Thai intervention marks MOHRE’s attempt to safeguard the residents and expatriates.

Watch Out for the Social Media Scams and Alerts

The advent of social media platforms in the job periphery is a deterrent or rudimentary reason for UAE job scam cases. Scammers are providing no-experience jobs with high-paying salaries via social media, creating pages that look genuine and display misleading testimonials.

In the face of visa procedures and documentation, recruiters demand personal information that causes job seekers to compromise their identity and financial loss.

The MOHRE has issued guidelines for identification, non-specific email IDs, blatantly high pay, and any payment request. Additionally, verifying the employer’s details on the National Economic Register and denying job opportunities provided on a tourist visa are also recommended.

Academic institutions have also significantly contributed to raising awareness against the UAE job scam, especially for newcomers applying for the first time.

Safeguarding the UAE’s Job Market and Applicants

To uphold the sovereignty of the labor market, the nation’s officials are reinforcing stern actions and awareness campaigns. While MOHRE cooperates with cybersecurity cells to remove deceitful advertisements, schools and other institutions are circulating messages to alert individuals. Campaigns, webinars, and online guidance are to help natives be aware of these traps.

The swift action against the UAE Job Scam and MOHRE Job Scam is to penalize the guilty and build an accountable and inclusive hiring ecosystem accessible to all. Envisioning to create an environment free of scams, every job seeker needs to address the issues of verifying jobs officially and the denial of payment.

With the controlled actions of government, cognizance of institutions, and compliance by the public, the nation is paving its way to a suitable destination for job seekers.
