Abu Dhabi, October 4, 2025 – A resident of the United Arab Emirates, the Ramadan 2026 is setting the stage in anticipation of 2026, with astronomers providing tentative dates and weather forecasts. “the Ramadan 2026 is predicted to start on Thursday, February 19, depending on the official sighting of the moon,” explained Ibrahim Al Jarwan, president of the Astronomy Society, and gave some practical advice to families and communities as the month approached.

The Ramadan 2026: Expected Starting Date and Fasting Hours

The Ramadan 2026 is set to start on Thursday, 19 February based on initial astronomical calculations. The Emirates Astronomy Society said that New Crescent Moon will be born on Tuesday, February 17 at 4:01 pm on the time of UAE. However, the moon will set it after just one minute of sunset, making it impossible to see that evening. That would mean fasting would begin on February 19; however, the final decision lies with the official moon-sighting committees.

In the early 2026, fasting hours in Abu Dhabi will be 12 hours and 46 minutes. Later, as days proceed slowly: with the progress of the holy month, the fasting hours will be increased by nearly 13 hours and 25 minutes towards the end of 2026. The daylight in the Ramadan 2026 will decrease from 11 hours and 32 minutes to 12 hours and 12 minutes. This alteration in the length of daylight will gradually increase the fasting duration of observers during the Ramadan 2026 every day.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan said that, while not unusual, families should be prepared for the possibility of rainy days in Ramadan 2026. These weather updates help the residents of UAE more effectively the plan ceremonies, functions and external activities.

Community Anticipation and Official Confirmation

Everyone in Abu Dhabi and UAE await the official announcement of the early date of the Ramadan 2026. The final confirmation will come from the Nominated Moon-vision committees, according to the Islamic tradition. This allows initial prediction residents to organize their schedule, shop for Ramadan essential, and prepare for monthly spiritual rituals and family celebrations.
