Dubai, UAE, May 1, 2025: In May 2025, the UAE announced the New Petrol and Diesel Prices as a major part of the monthly fuel price adjustments. The UAE Fuel Price Committee’s releases are a reflection of the nation’s commitment to aligning local fuel rates with international market movements. These new rates take effect from May 1, 2025, and will affect private motorists and businesses across the country.

Petrol and Diesel Prices updates: Latest figures for May 2025

Petrol and Diesel Prices have slightly increased, while a reduction is seen in diesel prices when compared to April 2025. The diesel E-Plus 91 petrol is increased from AED 2.38 to AED 2.39 per litre. A special 95 petrol now weighs AED 2.47 per litre, a marginal increase from AED 2.46 since last month. And Super 98 stands at AED 2.58 per litre, slightly recovering from AED 2.57.

The diesel prices go the other way, showing a drop. The new diesel price for May is AED 2.52 per litre as against AED 2.63 in April. For logistics companies and heavy vehicle operators, this decrease in diesel rates is huge since diesel is one of the principal fuels for transportation and delivery services.

The monthly review of the petrol and diesel prices by the UAE is a part of the transparent pricing policy introduced in 2015. This has allowed local fuel prices to reflect the trends of global oil prices and keep the country competitive in the region.

How Petrol and Diesel Prices Affect Daily Life

Changes in fuel prices inevitably affect every resident in the UAE. For example, increased petrol prices would make motorists spend extra money monthly on fuel. Every small increment in petrol, diesel rates may become significant, particularly in cases of long-distance commuters driving their cars frequently.

This is a concern to companies, particularly those in the transport and logistics sectors, as petrol and diesel form a significant part of their operational costs. A reduction in the price of diesel-for instance, that which was announced to be effective from May 2025-can lead to decreased freight costs, which will further constrain prices of commodities and services for consumers. Taxi drivers, delivery companies, and public transport all monitor fuel prices very closely.

Petrol and Diesel Prices monthly adjustment also motivates frugal use of fuel. Try to optimize fuel consumption or contemplate transitioning to hybrid or electric vehicles. That is one way most UAE citizens and businesses are trying to support the broader sustainability and environmental responsibility goals of the United Arab Emirates.

When fuel prices rise, they may need to adjust fares or delivery charges to cover increased costs. Conversely, a decrease in diesel prices can offer some financial relief and help keep business operations more profitable.

Why Petrol and Diesel Prices Change Every Month

Petrol and diesel prices in the UAE are mainly influenced by the global oil price for which events around the world, shifts in supply and demand, decisions taken by oil-producing countries such as OPEC affect the extent to which fuel rates will change. Local policies and taxes also have a bearing on the final price at the pump.

Since 2015, the UAE has adopted a transparent and market-driven approach to the Petrol and Diesel Prices. After reviewing international trends, these prices are then set monthly by the fuel price committee to ensure comparatively fair local prices within international costs. This policy is a buffer that ensures the stability of the UAE economy in times of sudden shocks. Whereas a modest increase in petrol prices for May 2025 reflects a recent increase in global oil prices, the cut-back in diesel prices is perhaps attributed to the changes in supply and demand for diesel fuel.

Looking Ahead: Planning for Future Petrol and Diesel Prices

By continuing to move along the lines of international trends in the Petrol and Diesel Prices, it seems that both the residents and businesses would be able to experience an update every month. Such updates will help in budgeting and making informed decisions regarding transportation and energy use. The government encourages fuel efficiency and alternative means: public transport, electric vehicles, etc.

The diesel price for May 2025 is AED2.52, and petrol prices are E-Plus 91 at AED2.39, Special 95 at AED2.47, and Super 98 at AED2.58 per litre. These rates say so much for the country following a transparent system, fair pricing, and a market approach toward fuel pricing. Petrol and Diesel Prices, the next round of pricing announcements will be in late May, and these declarations will set the prices for June 2025. Keep yourself up to date on any changes regarding petrol and diesel prices, and plan accordingly.
