Ajman, Abu Dhabi, May 8, 2025– A new rule has been announced by Ajman Police, which bans all delivery riders from using fast lanes on the main roads in the emirate. The UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban has come into force with the aim of ensuring road safety and curbing accidents involving motorcycles. This has been done as a new step, all in an attempt to secure delivery riders and road users.

The Need for the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane

Delivery bikes on UAE roads have been seeing more and more action within the last few years. As more and more people are ordering food and goods online, delivery riders have become a common sight to behold in Ajman and other emirates. With the influx of delivery bikes came more road accidents. Most of these accidents occurred while the deliveries attempted to use the fast lane or were weaving through traffic.

UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban: Ajman Police Tighten Road Safety Rules

Without a doubt, the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban was created to alleviate the said issues. Ajman Police discovered that numerous delivery riders were using the third and fourth lanes, also known as the fast lanes, to illegally overtake cars or expedite their journey. Such acts created dangerous situations during peak hours or heavy traffic. The purpose of banning delivery motorcycles from using the fast lane is to curb reckless driving and create safer roads for all.

Ajman Police have stated that the new rule is not intended to punish delivery riders but to protect them. Motorcycles are more vulnerable than cars; this is especially the case when travelling at higher speeds. The fast lane is essentially for cars travelling at greater speeds, and when you start mixing in motorcycles with the fast-moving cars, you increase the probability of serious accidents. Under the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban, it is ensured that delivery riders keep to the rightmost lanes, where most of the time, the traffic flows more slowly and is much safer.

How the Ban Will Be Enforced and Its Impact on Road Users

Ajman Police have set up a strict system to enforce the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban. To update tracking, they brought in technology such as the “Ajman Dar Al Aman” surveillance system, smart gates, and systematic monitoring from their end. This equipment watches over a given portion of the road and captures any delivery rider who violates the rule. Should a rider be found guilty of using the fast lane or weaving between cars, a Dh400 fine will be imposed upon him in accordance with the UAE Federal Traffic Law.

The ban is also backed by awareness campaigns. Ajman Police has worked with delivery companies to ensure that all riders know about the rule and understand that using the fast lane is not a safe practice. These awareness campaigns are all concentrating on lane discipline, safe driving, and adherence to traffic laws. Through awareness, the police are trying to shift their focus toward preventing accidents rather than treating their consequences, plus inculcating the spirit of safety in all delivery riders.

With this, for delivery companies, the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban means that they need to train their riders in the new provisions. Companies will have to ensure that all riders comprehend the lanes they are permitted to use and the consequences of violating the law. This probably may need some reforms in logistics planning and delivery management activities, but will more likely end up securing all involved.

For the public, the UAE Delivery Riders Fast-Lane Ban offers several benefits. Having to require delivery motorcycles to keep right will free the fast lanes from them. This shall improve the present condition of traffic congestion and ease its flow, especially during the peak hours. The road authorities and safety authorities shall reduce traffic accidents for the benefit of all.

Ajman Police cautioned delivery riders against risky behaviors, such as overtaking between vehicles, riding on the shoulder of the road, or ignoring lane discipline. Riders must keep the required distance between one another and observe other traffic regulations. The UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban is just one step in a much larger road safety initiative within the emirate.

A Safer Future for Ajman Roads

At an executive level, the Fast Lane Ban for Delivery Riders in the UAE is now fully functioning and is henceforth being enforced by the Ajman Police. The Police will continuously keep road authorities under scrutiny while also taking action in regard to anyone who violates the rule. Police are calling on all road users, including delivery riders and drivers, to cooperate in making Ajman’s roads a safer place.

This new law is a sure declaration of Ajman’s attitude towards road safety. By implementing the UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban, delivery riders plus the general public are being protected by the authorities. The more that abide by this new rule, the safer and more orderly the roads of Ajman will be for everyone.

The UAE Delivery Riders Fast Lane Ban might be looked at as a stepping stone toward a road culture that is safer and more responsible across the UAE. Ajman Police offer a hope that the rest of the emirates will follow suit in putting in place such measures for the safety of delivery riders and all the other road users.
